The 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 covers serious ground on a single charge, up to 318 miles depending on trim and drivetrain, more than enough for a full week of commuting through South St. Louis County or a weekend run out to Columbia and back. Every configuration runs on Hyundai’s 800-volt E-GMP platform, the same architecture that makes this one of the fastest-charging EVs at its price point. Here’s how the 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 electric range breaks down by trim, and what to expect when it’s time to plug in.

2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Range by Trim

  • SE Standard Range (RWD): 63-kWh battery, up to 245 miles
  • SE and SEL (RWD): 84-kWh battery, up to 318 miles
  • SE and SEL (AWD): 84-kWh battery, up to 290 miles
  • Limited (RWD): 84-kWh battery, up to 318 miles
  • Limited (AWD): 84-kWh battery, up to 269 miles
  • XRT (AWD only): 84-kWh battery, up to 259 miles

Every trim above the base SE Standard Range shares the same 84-kWh pack, so the range difference between them comes down almost entirely to drivetrain: rear-wheel drive stretches farther, while dual-motor AWD trades some range for added traction and quicker acceleration.

How Long Does It Take to Charge the 2026 IONIQ 5?

The IONIQ 5’s 800-volt architecture is what sets its charging apart. On a DC fast charger rated above 250 kW, most 2026 IONIQ 5 configurations can go from 10% to 80% charge in roughly 18 to 20 minutes. Every 2026 IONIQ 5 comes with a native NACS charging port for direct access to the Tesla Supercharger network, plus an included adapter for CCS stations like Electrify America.

At home, a 240-volt Level 2 charger takes the 63-kWh battery from 10% to 100% in around 5 hours and 40 minutes, or about 7 hours and 20 minutes for the 84-kWh pack, an easy overnight charge for most St. Louis-area drivers
